Marcus Bailey – Director >
Coach Marcus Bailey founded Cornerstone Athletics, Inc. to share his athletic skills, knowledge, and expertise with children, junior, and collegiate athletes. His athletic accomplishments in Track and Field include:
- Level 1 Certified USA Track and Field Coach
- 1999 Space Coast Conference Coach of the Year (Track and Field)1990 Florida High School 4A State Champion (Long Jump)
- 1996 Olympic Trials finalist (Long Jump)
- University of Georgia Record-Holder (Long Jump—26.5”)
- 1994 NCAA Div. 1 Collegiate All-American (Long Jump)
- 1990 USA Today High School All-American (Long Jump)
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a major in history, Coach Bailey competed in Finland on the European circuit. He retired early, returning to his hometown of Merritt Island, Florida, to share his passion, talent, and training knowledge with the next generation of young athletes. He inspired students both in the classroom as a history teacher and in athletics as the Head Track and Field Coach, Girls’ Head Basketball Coach, and Boys’ Head Basketball Coach. He has also assisted in training his oldest son as a Track and Field athlete and is an assistant coach of his younger son’s flag football team. Coach Bailey has been married to his wife, Barbara, for eight years and is the owner of Homes for Many, Inc.

Logan Brafford – Assistant Coach >
Logan currently attends Florida State University as a sophomore and is a member of the FSU Track and Field Team. As a freshman at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University during 2008-2009, he made significant achievements including:
- Embry-Riddle Record Holder in the 55-meter, 60-meter, and 100-meter events
- 2008-2009 Fastest NAIA Freshman 60-meter time
Logan is also a 2008 Honor Graduate of Merritt Island High School, where his athletic accomplishments included:
- Lettered in both Varsity Football and Track and Field
- Two-time Florida Today Football Play-of-the-Week award (2007)
- Track and Field co-captain (2008)
- All-Conference Honors (2007, 2008)
Barbara Bailey – Assistant Director
A former teacher and administrator in Brevard County schools for more than 13 years, Barbara Bailey firmly believes that both personal fitness and academic progress play key roles in the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of today’s youth. With a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, a gift for working with youth, and a proven track record overseeing educational programming, Barbara was named one of Brevard County’s Top Three Administrators in 2006 by the Brevard Federation of Teachers.
An avid participant in road races and triathlons, Barbara spends her spare time running, cycling, swimming, and strength training. She is certified in CPR and First Aid.
